Canadian singer and songwriter Tamia Hill rocked the Cape Town leg of her SA tour on Saturday night.
The sounds of love filled the air at Greenpoint Stadium as the hitmaker set the night on fire.
Fans started pouring through the gates at 5pm sharp to find a lekker spot, and the show kicked off shortly before 7pm, when, among others, Paxton Fielies and Lady Zamar took to the stage as opening acts.
The 18-year-old said she was still in shock about being selected to be on the same stage as Tamia.
“I performed and enjoyed it to the max,” the excited teen tells the Daily Voice.
“I was on stage and only after I was finished, did it sink in; I opened the stage for Tamia; me, a girl from Bishop Lavis.”
Organisers then announced a 10-minute break which stretched to 40 minutes, but Nicole Richards said the opening act made up for this.
“It was dope, so we didn’t mind,” she said.
Lady Zamar further warmed up the audience with her lekker hits, Charlotte, Collide and You are a Citizen (a Resident).
Finally, after 9pm, Tamia stepped on stage wearing a multi-coloured embellished dress with a big silver belt.
Euniez Robertson says Tamia’s performance was worth every cent of her ticket. “Wow, but Tamia has moves and and is awesome stage presence. I was in the Golden Circle and it was worth it.”
Tamia belted out all crowd favourites, including It’s Yours, Beautiful Surprise, Can I Spend My Life With You, Almost and Do Anything for My Man.
“It was an amazing experience and I will treasure it,” said Euniez.
