The Athlone Civic Centre was lit on Friday night - because director Omar “Boeta Maan” Adams made sure his show wouldn’t be disrupted by power cuts.

Kinders Van Die Ses presented the Your Funny Comedy Showcase which had mense in stitches with laughter.
Comedians Ghakeem Roman and Moses Williams were the headline acts on the night, doing a romantic comedy skit that had the audience on the edge of their seats.
Earlier, in the first half of the show, singing couple, A2, took the ou mense on a lekker stroll down memory lane, performing golden oldies that had the seniors singing to the music they enjoyed when they were young and smoorverlief.
They also klopped lekker old school jol nommers for the tieties and boetas to skud their biscuits tot die krummels val.
Ruwayda Fagoedien said: “Yassis, but this music mos takes a person way back to when I was a young girl growing up in District Six.”
Between performances, the mense took over the front of the stage to bust a few jazz moves.
But the showstopper was when Michael Jackson Impersonator Eagan February took to the stage.
At first there was a stunned silence, as the crowd gasped at his resemblance to the King of Pop, but as the music started, everyone screamed at his smooth moves.
Eagan had a queue of fans waiting to take pictures with him after the show.
Boeta Maan announced to the audience to prepare for his next show, shortly before Ramadaan.
