Emo Adams and Friends gave mense a lekker show at the Athlone Civic Centre on Friday night.
The hall was propvol excited fans who braved the cold weather to see their favourite home-grown artists perform.
On the line-up alongside Emo were Mono Dullisear, The Rockets band, brother Loukmaan Adams, Gedagtes and the Take Note band.
Mense went bos when The Rockets took to stage. Mogamat Rushdien Sardien from Mitchells Plain couldn’t hold back his excitement when Theo Watt from The Rockets allowed him to grab the mic for a song.
Little Amani Leonard, six, from Kensington wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to see his idol Emo.
“I love Emo and I know the words to all his songs, he's my favourite singer,” she said.
Emo and Loukmaan’s dad Omar Adams was beaming with pride as his sons took to stage.
“I’m happy that they can perform to their Cape Flats fans again and it’s a joy to see them on stage together,” he said.
Omar’s group Kinders Van Die Ses was also present.
Emo thanked the crowd for coming out.
“This event is part of my 30 years in the industry celebration,” he said.
“I intend to do more shows to give back to my community this year.”
Majdie and his wife Maryam Salie had front row seats to the show.
“We love the Adams brothers, we especially came for Emo because he’s an amazing entertainer and makes us laugh,” they said.
Mono took mense on a trip down memory lane to the Jag boy band days when he performed the Judy Boucher classic Can't Be With You.
