ACCLAIMED: Piano player Mervyn Africa

Two musical sons of the Cape are coming together for a special “Live in Athlone” event on Sunday.

Mervyn Africa is an acclaimed pianist and composer and wrote some tunes with the late Russel Herman while exiled in the UK.

He will be joined by guitarist Errol Dyers and special guest singer Trudy Rushin.

It’s all happening at the CWDA Cultural Hub in Lawrence Road Athlone.

It’s billed as an intimate evening where the music is the star of the show.

Refreshments will be on sale on Sunday and tickets are R75.
