Here in Cape Town we start training our artists and singers on the skoolbanke already, and on Friday night, local stars and their offspring came out to play at the Timour Hall Primary School Talent Show in Plumstead.
Die saal was gepak with proud parents and families coming out to support their kids.
With the number of celebrity parents in the audience, it’s no secret that the learners at the school are an equally talented bunch.
Voice of the Cape radio presenter Adiela Fortune was the MC, while artists Nur Abrahams and Ernie B St Claire, who both have kids at the school, were part of the stellar line-up.
There were 23 acts in the jam-packed show, which was filled with pure entertainment from start to finish, with excited parents loudly and proudly cheering on their little ones as they took to the stage.
The annual event is held to showcase diversity at Timour Hall Primary.
Adiela, whose child also attends the school, says she is extremely proud of the talented kids.
“The school has such great talent and committed teachers who help nurture the talent in our kids.”
Ernie B did a special performance with his seven-year-old son Miyoko and they brought the house down with their g evaarlike moves to Kendrick Lamar’s hit song, Humble.
Nur Abrahams performed Pharrell Williams’ Happy, with the grade six and seven classes as his back-up dancers.
The group A2, made up of husband and wife team Zubayda and Zyboedien Abrahams sang Michael Jackson’s Heal The World, with their daughter Shakeeraa, who also attends Timour Hall Primary.
The teachers ended the show with a kwaai cabaret medley. Well done!
