Now, you’ve heard about the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, but did you know there are some new kids on the block?
The Community Philharmonic Orchestra is being launched this weekend and it’s looking to be a stunning event.
This is a non-profit company that offers an opportunity for amateur musicians to play alongside professionals.
At least half of this orchestra are amateurs, and they will be showing what they’re made off this Saturday at the City Hall.
CEO Desmond Solomons says this is your chance to see new stars being born.
“The amateur musicians come from all communities within the Western Cape, and who would not normally have an opportunity to share in such an event,” Solomons says.
Proceeds will be donated to the Masakhe Foundation and Rotary Club in Blouberg.
The theme is Classics at the Movies, while the Waterfront Theatre School will showcase their ballet dancers on stage.
Tickets cost from R150 to R250, while VIP tickets of R450 include a three-course meal.
Tickets available from Computicket and the show starts at 6pm.
