KAPENAARS mistook Arsenal legend Ian Wright for former South African president Jacob Zuma.

Wright sent mense in Langa wild at the weekend as he toured the Mother City’s township with host Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.

Wright was seen chowing vleis from shishanyama vendors while meeting and greeting fans.

The former England striker and popular TV pundit posted his visit to Cape Town on his Facebook profile.

A huge Premier League star in the 1990s, Wright held Arsenal’s all-time goalscoring record until 2005.

Given that his heyday was decades ago, some fans were confused by just who Kolisi was hanging out with – mistaking the famous Gunner for the most famous machine gun “Umshini wami” Jacob Zuma.

One commenter wrote: “From the first sight I thought it was Zuma.”

Another said: “Not me seeing Jacob Zuma.”

However, football fan Chana Nku knew exactly who Wright was, remembering his

controversial winner in a 2-1 friendly against England at Old Trafford in 1997.

Chana wysed: “He scored a handball against Bafana Bafana this one, but a great chap.”

Other excited soccer lovers also sent their greetings to Wrighty, who scored a chart hit in 1993 with his Pet Shop Boys-produced banger Do The Right Thing.
