After dominating The Voice SA finals earlier this month, Cape Town’s talent is cracking the nod again, bagging 16 Golden Tickets at the Idols SA auditions on Sunday.
Radio powerhouse DJ Fresh joined judges Randall, Somizi and Unathi at the judges’ table, this time as a guest judge.
“I need to hear you sing with my eyes closed and hear that that is a star, that is a diamond,” was DJ Fresh’s expectation from the Mother City.
Elsies River’s Craig Jordaan, 20, had judges hanging on his every word as he belted out Andrea Day’s Rise Up.
Craig, who has been a back-up singer for Karin Kortje for three years and also the lead vocalist for the Signature SA band, said: “I was extremely nervous, I could see how my heart was beating through my shirt.
“The judges gave positive comments and I am definitely taking it. I will work so hard in Theatre week auditions and give my all for what’s coming.

“This audition has taught me to start believing in myself.”
Karin said:” I’m proud of Craig and believe he will go far, not just in the competition but in life as well.”
Also among the 16 was Wanda Gqiyaza, 25, from Philippi, and returnee Zia Fielies, 19, from Manenberg.
She was just 16 when she tried out for Season 13 auditions, but says she has grown and has what it takes to go far in Season 15.
Idols SA Season 15 airs on Mzansi Magic, DStv Channel 161, on Sundays at 5.30pm.
