Fun for all at Klopse fundraiser.

The Fabulous Seawind Entertainers held their annual variety show at the weekend.

And just like these minstrel champs bring the jol during klopse time, so het die jol geruk at the Athlone Civic Centre on Saturday night.

The group’s owner Shahied Fisher says the money from their annual fundraiser is all ploughed back into the club, and used to buy equipment and generally improve things.

Over 700 mense came to show their support, and MC Ashley Pienaar was op sy stukke entertaining the audience as things got off to a late start.

But all was forgiven when Edith Plaatjies took the stage and kicked things off with the Tina Turner hit, Simply the Best.

Next up was guitar maestro Jonathan Rubain who delivered an electrifying performance, taking mense back to the 90s, and having them sing along to old favourites like Judy Boucher’s Can’t Be With You Tonight.

The divas of 3D raised the roof with their energetic performance, and the hall was lit up as mense whipped out their cellphones to take photos and make videos of the group.

Others to take the stage included Waseef Piekaan, Monox and Lyndall Kearns.

Jameela Dixon, 52, of Heinz Park made sure to charge her cellphone to catch all the action on stage.

“Die Divas vat die koek weg,” she shouted.

Mehnaz Salie, 5, and Zahra Carelse, 7, took over the dance floor with their kwaai moves, while mom Inshaaf Ederies, 24, from Kalksteenfontein held her baby Nathifa styf vas as she jolled.
