EARLY GOAL: Fagrie Lakay

A Fagrie Lakay penalty and a strike by Liam Jordan gave the South African U20 team a 2-0 aggregate win over Namibia to make it to the third round of qualifiers for the CAF U20 Afcon scheduled for February 2017 in Zambia.

Thabo Senong’s charges only had one thing on their mind, which was to get the early goal and the Amajita attacked from the start, with a shot at goal within the first few seconds of the match.

SA penetrated the Namibia defence throughout the first half and won a penalty in the 25th minute when Lakay was brought down in the box. He stepped up to score with a well-taken shot from the spot to put the hosts in a driving seat.

Jordan came on for Lakay in the 75th minute and his presence was immediately felt as he managed to get the killer second goal in the 83rd minute for Amajita.

Amajita will face the winner between Lesotho and Mozambique in July.
