SA funnyman admits he wasn't ready to host 'The Daily Show'

Trevor Noah has admitted that he was not ready to take over as host of the iconic Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

It has been 10 months since Trevor replaced the legendary Jon Stewart and the comedian says he agrees when people say he’s not ready to host the satirical late night news show.

“I don’t think I would ever have been ready, but that’s when you must do it, you will not be ready,” the comedian told Reuters.

“Sometimes you will wait your whole life to be ready and you’ll never do something.”

The Daily Show has faced criticism for turning over the reins to Noah last September after long-time host Jon Stewart stepped down.

“I know there are moments where I feel like I have excelled or reached where I would like to be. But I’m far from from where I would like to end up,” Noah said.

“For now, it is a good grade.”

The 32-year-old, who moved to the US in 2011, most recently made headlines for tackling the issue of the police shootings in the US, saying activists for Black Lives Matter movement can also be pro-police.
