Traditional Tuna Salad


Two cans of tuna

1 onion sliced

Mixed lettuce

Whole cherry tomatoes, about 15

Julienne carrots

Avocado, peeled and sliced into quarters


Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


Rinse lettuce and arrange a platter, spread over the slices of onion, avo and cherry tomatoes.

Drain tuna brine from cans, add salt and pepper, and then dish it in the centre of the platter.

Garnish with coriander and add a dip of your choice – sweet chilli, chutney or mayo will work, or you can make your own as jy daai girl is.

You can have your tuna salad with toasted bread, bagels or salticrax.
