Tougher times at Ajax CT

NOT AT HIS BEST: Prince Nxumalo

Roger is concerned about team's lack of goals.

Ajax Cape Town boss Roger de Sa admits that things are not getting easier as the club search for their first win of the PSL
campaign.

The Urban Warriors have dropped into the relegation zone after picking up just two points from the five games this term.

And ahead of their clash against Wits at Cape Town Stadium tomorrow night (7.30pm), De Sa is expecting another challenging game for his struggling side.

He says: “It’s a tough game for sure.

“We’re playing against a team that beat the African champions in a cup final not too long ago [when Wits beat Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 in the MTN8 final].

“It’s as though as they come right now.

“They are one of the league favourites and have a huge squad.

“We haven’t had the best run and we know this.

“We have problems to get over and it’s not getting any easier.”

Goals have been the missing piece for Ajax, with Nathan Paulse scoring all three of the Cape side’s goals this season.

And with Paulse recovering from surgery to a fractured cheek, De Sa is looking elsewhere for options.

He adds: “Prince Nxumalo has come back from a long illness and is not as sharp.

“Neither is Jucie Lupeta, who is coming back from a hamstring problem.

“Both of them are short of their best, so we have to tweak things a bit.”
