A suspected gangster was gunned down after he allegedly changed alliances but would not take out two members of his old gang.
The 27-year-old man was shot dead in St Lucia Court, Hanover Park, on Saturday night at about 9pm.
He was shot in his back and neck and died on the scene.
According to eyewitnesses and those close to the deceased, the victim left the Americans to join the Laughing Boys.
“He was told to take out two Americans but he didn’t, so members of the Laughing Boys shot him,” an eyewitness tells the Daily Voice.
Police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk says no arrests have been made yet.
“It’s yet to be determined if the incident was gang-related. The suspects are unknown and still at large,” he says.
“Police are investigating a case of murder.”
