Three people were shot and wounded during a suspected gang-related shooting.
The incident happened on the corner of Hek Road and Grindle Avenue, Lavender Hill, yesterday morning.
It’s believed at least one of the victims is a member of the Bad Boys gang.
A police source close to the investigation says the suspects fired shots from a red car, hitting the gangster multiple times in the back and legs.
“An innocent bystander was shot in the arm twice,” the cop says.
“The shooting was in retaliation to Saturday night’s shooting in Vrygrond,” the cop adds.
In the incident, the son of Overcome Heights Committee chairperson Fouwzia Cassiem’s 18-year-old son Tashreeq was shot and killed.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel André Traut says the suspects have not been arrested yet.
“Three men aged 43, 27 and 26 years old were shot and wounded on the corner of Hek and Grindle Roads, Lavender Hill, by unknown suspects who are yet to be arrested.
“The victims were admitted to hospital,” Traut says.
