If you thought Louis van Gaal was unpopular with Manchester United legends, it seems like Jose Mourinho is in for even more criticism.
The controversial |Portuguese is on the brink of being announced as successor to the Dutchman, with reports last night claiming that his agent Jorge Mendes was locked in negotiations with United CEO Ed Woodward.
But treble-winning goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel believes it would be a risky move for United to appoint Mourinho as boss.
He tells the BBC: “Mourinho is not an easy call to make for the owners and leaders because if he was the right man, he would have been picked before, that was the obvious choice.
“He has fallen out with a director of football at a club, a president, a team doctor.
“He has done things |that are not in the way |Manchester United wants the football club to run.
“Mourinho knows why he has not been asked in the past, would you not then change yourself and accommodate what the job really is about at this football club?
