Cops are investigating a case where a teenager was left with a knife stuck in his head, his alleged attacker dead and another teen’s face was left disfigured.
The deadly attack happened on Saturday night in Mount Pleasant, Hermanus, when the deceased, Henk Pietersen, 19, allegedly started swearing at a group of friends.
“I confronted him, he hit me with an empty beer bottle and I passed out,” claims Denovan Lodewyk, 21.
Denovan’s brother, 18, who asked not to be identified, says Henk stabbed him in the face with the bottelkop.
“The next thing I saw was a knife in my friend Bal’s head,” says the 18-year-old, claiming he can’t remember what happened next.
It’s believed Henk went home.
His girlfriend, who asked to remain anonymous, says “two men” threw stones in her yard, looking for Henk.
“They said they would kill him,” says the meisie, 21. “(Henk) shouted I must lock the door and then I heard someone fall next to the house.”
Henk had jumped over the fence and tried to run to his mom’s house but collapsed and died on the way.
“When forensics people picked him up they saw the bottelkop still stuck in his neck,” she adds.
Meanwhile, Denovan, his brother and 16-year-old Bal were rushed to Hermanus hospital, from where Bal was transferred to Worcester Hospital to have the knife removed from his head.
Constable Noloyiso Rwexana says cops are investigating murder. “The deceased was involved in a fight in Mount Pleasant where he stabbed people. He ran to Zwelihle.”
No arrests have been made.
