Toffees looking to milk rivals of £125m for pair

Everton are confident and are playing hard ball as they hold out for big money for star assets John Stones and Romelu Lukaku.

Reports claim that the Toffees believe that Chelsea and Manchester City are both so desperate that they will cave in over the £125m wanted for strike Lukaku and defender Stones.

Everton have told the Blues the Belgian hitman Lukaku will not join his former club unless they pay a British-record £75m.

New Stamford Bridge coach Antonio Conte has revealed that Diego Costa is unsettled and the bad boy striker looks unhappy on tour in the US.

Chelsea’s initial £57m enquiry for Lukaku was knocked back by Everton, who made it clear that the Londoners will have to meet their asking price on a player previous boss Jose Mourinho allowed to move to Merseyside for just£28m.

Everton are also banking on City to dig deep to land Stones, who they want a record- for-a-defender £50m for.

The Toffees have new money thanks to new billionaire owner Farhad Moshiri and are not pressured to sell their stars this season.

Meanwhile, defender Ashley Williams has agreed to become Ronald Koeman’s first signing at Everton .

The Swansea man will make the switch to Goodison Park after the clubs agreed a £10m fee for the 31-year-old.
