Mamelodi Sundowns are back in the Caf Champions League.
This after Congolese giants AS Vita were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player by the Caf Organising Committee for Interclubs Competitions yesterday.
After reviewing a complaint by Stade Malien (Mali) on the eligibility of the player Idrissa Traore used by AS Vita (DR Congo) during the |preliminary matches, the Committee found that the player was meant to be serving a four-match ban.
Caf then decided to disqualify AS Vita from the Orange CAF Champions League, replaced |by Downs, the last opponent of AS Vita before qualifying for the group phase.
The PSL champions get a third chance to conquer Africa this term after being beaten by Vita and falling out of the Confederations Cup too.
