Spurs waste shot to go top of table

Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino

Alli, Christian Eriksen and Ben Davies all missed chances to put the ahead.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino went soft on his wasteful players after they missed the chance to go top of the Premier League.

Dele Alli had to score a 89th-minute
equaliser to earn them a 1-1 draw at West Brom after Nacer Chadli nearly gave the
Baggies victory over his old team.

Alli, Christian Eriksen and Ben Davies all missed chances to put Spurs ahead.

But the boss says: “We missed the opportunity to achieve three points but in the same way it was a difficult game. When you show your skill and are much better than the opposition during 45 minutes and create five or six big chances but don’t score, you leave the score open.”

Spurs also lost Toby Alderweireld in the second half to add to their woes, and he is a doubt for their trip to Bayer Leverkusen this week.
