Anyone who has tried to vacuum under the bed or those hard-to-reach areas will know how much of a mission this can be.
But now with the release of the Xiaomi’s Mi Robot Vacuum, this hassle could be a thing of the past.
Mi Robot Vacuum is ‘n slim robot with Laser Distance Sensor (LDS). This allows it to scan its surroundings 360 degrees, 1 800 times per second.
With a Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm, which enables the device to map out how the house is laid out and calculate the best cleaning path, you can be sure of a thorough cleaning.
With the help of the Mi Home app, you can control Mi Robot remotely and do your vacuum cleaning while at your desk and get home to a dirt-free house.
The main brush automatically adjusts height to create a tight seal with the floor for dirt pick-up on uneven surfaces.
It also maintains 1cm distance from walls for the side brush to effectively clean near walls.
It has a 5 200 mAh battery, which the company claims will provide 2.5 hours of cleaning.
So far, this nifty gadget has only been released in China, so we might have to wait a while before it reaches our market but expect to pay close to R4 000.
