France coach Guy Noves will call in the heavy artillery when they go to war with the Springboks at Kings Park on Saturday (5pm).
After his frontline soldiers couldn’t stop the Boks from storming to victory in a bloodbath at Loftus last weekend, Noves is expected to use his guillotine and make some cuts to the side when he announces his team today.
In steps general at flyhalf Francois Trinh-Duc, captain and hooker Guilhem Guirado, powerhouse prop Xavier Chiocci, locks Arthur Iturria and Romain Taofifenua, inside man South African-born fullback Scott Spedding and secret midfield weapon Damian Penaud, 20.
While it will be a different France team to the one South Africa faced last weekend, Springbok coach Allister Coetzee isn’t expected to make a lot of changes to his side for the clash.
With centre Jesse Kriel ruled out of the clash, Lionel Mapoe is expected to start at outside centre in what might turn out to be the only change to the starting XV as Malcolm Marx and company look to build on the good platform they laid at Loftus last week.
