Stormers coach Robbie Fleck says the time spent by some of his players in the Springbok camp, gave them a lot of confidence.
Hooker Bongi Mbonambi made his Test debut in the third match against Ireland, while Sikhumbuzo Notshe also spent some time with the best in the country.
Added to this, midfielder Damian de Allende regained some form during the latter part of the international series, and lock Eben Etzebeth also got some valuable game time.
Fleck believes that, despite having lost his players for three weeks, the squad is better for it as they prepare to battle the Rebels in Australia tomorrow (11.35am).
Fleck says: “We’re excited to have the Boks back.
“They had a tough series and emotionally, mentally and physically took a bit of a battering.
“Now they know what it’s like to play at Test level and they can lift the intensity [of the Stormers guys around them].”
Of Mbonambi and Notshe, he adds: “It [the call-ups] gave them the world of confidence – [they] came back with a lot of confidence.
“Huw Jones who toured with Scotland to Japan also came back a different player… and I’m excited to see the guys playing [tomorrow].”
