Bafana Bafana rebel Thulani Serero has shovelled more dirt on his international career.
The former Ajax Cape Town ace withdrew from coach Stuart Baxter’s squad ahead of South Africa’s World Cup qualifier double header against Senegal.
And after the team lost out, the Vitesse Arnhem player has broken his silence.
He tells De Gelderlander: “The sofa in Arnhem is more comfortable than the South African bench… I have thought about it long and hard.
“If the national team wants me‚ then I must play, but as the situation is now I don’t want to go. What the consequences are for my international career, we’ll see. I understand what was at stake and that the games were important, but if I wasn’t going to play‚ I did not want to fly to South Africa for nothing.”
