FAST START: Arsene Wenger

Gunners and Foxes missing stars for clash?.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes his side is ready to start the Premier League with a bang despite missing some key  players.

The Gunners’ ammo for the season opener against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium tonight (8.45pm) is maar min after contract rebels Alexis Sanchez (abdominal strain) and Mesut Ozil (ankle) have both been ruled out.

On top of this, they also have to make-do without Aaron Ramsey (calf) and suspended defender Laurent Koscielny.

Maar Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare is in dieselfde bootjie, with midfielder duo Danny Drinkwater and Vicente Iborra both ruled out.

With the playing field level and new signing Alexandre Lacazette ready to pull the trigger, Wenger believes his charges have what it takes to bag the home win.

He explains: “We are well prepared and ready for a fight, and of course ambitious as well.

“I think we have a good level of physical preparation. All our players got a decent number of minutes of good competition, so overall the preparation of the squad looks good.

“Then we need to transform the quality of the preparation into points… which we didn’t do last year. That’s what we want to achieve this season.”

Shakespeare, meanwhile, believes new £25m signing Kelechi Iheanacho can form a deadly strike partnership with Jamie Vardy.

He says: “They can play together, most definitely.

“You’ve seen how they linked up.”

Wantaway Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez is also set to start.
