Life is not lekker at Barcelona at the moment.
Expectation from the club’s fans is huge and after crashing out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, the pressure will be on Luis Enrique’s manne to bounce back when they face Real Madrid in the El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday (8.45pm).
Enrique’s manne were smashed 3-0 by Juventus away from home in their quarterfinal first leg and were held to a goalless draw at Nou Camp on Wednesday.
Lionel Messi and company couldn’t break down Juve’s brilliant defence despite taking 19 shots at Gianluigi Buffon’s goal and failed to repeat their heroic comeback in the last 16 against Paris St Germain.
Barca boss Luis Enrique says: “We needed to be more calm and more lucid. We tried to do everything.
“We had a lot of shots on goal but only had one on target.
"We had a great attitude and made a huge effort so it’s a shame.
“We leave this game feeling sad but we can’t blame anyone. We tried everything until the end and kept fighting to create chances but none of them went in.”
Champions Barca currently trail Madrid by three points in La Liga, having also played one more game and Enrique adds: “It’s not a good night nor a good moment for Barcelona fans but we’ll keep fighting until the end.
“We now have the chance of getting back in the fight for the title.
"I feel happy to be able to work at a club that always wants to win everything all the time.”
