It will be the 128th match between the two sides and surprisingly it is Pakistan that has the better record overall with 72 victories since the sides first met in 1978.
The last time the teams met was in the 2015 World Cup – a match India won.
Before that it was the manne in green that were celebrating when they beat India in the 2014 Asia Cup.
Despite history being on their side, Pakistan come into the match as the underdogs as defending champions India will be fancied to beat the lowest ranked span in the top-eight tournament.
If India are able to defend their title, they will emulate Australia, who won back to back titles in 2006 and 2009, and will become the first team to win the title three times.
