Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is nou laer as slang k** in the eyes of his fans after their shock 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night
With the Gunners now in sixth place and looking like they will miss out on a top-four finish this season, fans had enough of Wenger and his spelers.
Gooners, as the fans are known, hurled abuse at Wenger and a number of his first-team stars as they surrounded the team bus following the embarrassing defeat.
Video footage appears to show fans shouting obscenities at the manager while Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi were also criticised as they made their way out of the stadium and onto the bus.
Those same supporters then appear to surround the bus as it attempts to depart for north London with a minority continuing to vocalise their discontent with strong words.
One fan could be heard shouting “f*** Arsene Wenger” as a number of others booed the sight of the under-fire 67-year-old.
Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott says: “[The] biggest thing is letting the fans down.
“We’ve let the fans down, we need to respond. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. We don’t go out there to lose games.
“It just didn’t happen [against Palace]. All we can do is apologise. I think they just wanted it more, you could tell. This is isn’t Arsenal at this moment in time.”
Wenger adds: “I understand our fans are disappointed…
“It’s very worrying and disappointing the way we lost the game.”
