And the Spaniard says tired United players need to get up and show what they can do one more time in the Stockholm clash against Ajax Amsterdam.
He says: “The Champions League is the best competition ... now we are playing in the Europa League and if we win it as I did a few years ago [with Chelsea], it’s a double bonus, as it’s a trophy and a Champions League spot, so it’s very important.
“It’s been a long season, but when you have a game like this, the very last game, all the fatigue and tiredness in your legs and body goes away because the desire of playing and winning it is much bigger than any possible fatigue.”
Meanwhile, former United and Ajax goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar says the youngsters from Amsterdam won’t skrik for the Red Devils.
Already, 19-year-old striker Kasper Dolberg and captain Davy Klaassen are sought-after players at Europe’s elite clubs.
Despite an average age of 22, Van der Sar, who is now a director at De Toekomst says the laaities have BMT.
He says: “They have played the same system. They have the same philosophy and they know what to do when the game starts.
“Sometimes you know what they can do but in other clubs they don’t get the opportunity to show it.
"At Ajax, you get the opportunity.
“You saw it in the games against Schalke [in the quarterfinal] and Lyon [in the semifinal].
“I never saw in those games that these boys could not play in the final.”
