No final-day match or Champions League soccer

Manchester United’s season has bombed – literally and figuratively.

On yesterday’s final day of the Premier League, the Red Devils had their match against Bournemouth abandoned due to a suspect package at Old Trafford, which was exploded.

Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal’s side are out of the Champions League spots after Man City drew 1-1 with Swansea to book fourth place in the Premier League.

The replay date for yesterday’s game will be |confirmed by the league, while United are still to play the FA Cup final on May 28.

It’s not good news for LVG, who says that if he loses his job at the end of the campaign, he will blame club legends for turning the fans against him.

The Dutchman says: “Of course all this speculation about my future for six months makes me angry. I have shown that many, many times.

“I have shown that and I am an open book for everybody. I have said that, but in spite of the attacks of the media – and not only the media, the legends and other kinds of people – I am here and I am fighting.”
