Leicester’s fairy tale Premier League title has everyone at the club on Claud 9.

The Foxes were handed the crown by dethroned champs Chelsea on Monday night when they drew 2-2 with title rivals Tottenham.

And coach Claudio Ranieri, who has won his first top-flight league title at the age of 64, says he will savour it.

After being told by Jose Mourinho that he was too old to win anything when the Special One took over from the Italian at Stamford Bridge in 2004, it was Ranieri who laughed lekkerste.

Yesterday after returning to the Leicester training ground from visiting his mother in Italy, Ranieri took the achievement in his stride.

He says: “I had lunch with my mother and I watched the match. I’m very happy now. Maybe if I had won this title at the beginning of my career I would have forgot. But now I am an old man, I can celebrate.”

Star man Jamie Vardy, who has been transformed from a shot-shy striker last season into an England star, adds: “It’s the biggest achievement in the history of a great club and we all feel privileged to be part of it.

“It’s even more special to have done it with these lads. Every minute of hard work we’ve put in on the training pitch has been worth.”
