Foxes and Devils in Charity Shield.

Leicester and Manchester United want to win in Sunday’s Charity Shield to kickstart their Premier League title charge.

League champions Leicester and FA Cup winners United raise the curtain on the season (Wembley, kickoff 5pm).

Both sides have strengthened in the transfer window and the Red Devils have even had a managerial change after Louis van Gaal was replaced by Jose Mourinho.

The Foxes have brought in Ahmed Musa up front, while Nampalys Mendy and Bartosz Kapustka have bolstered the midfield where N’golo Kante has left a hole.

United too have been busy bringing in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri is hoping for an improved performance after Wednesday night’s 4-2 loss to Barcelona, with Musa scoring twice.

He says: “I hope the players learned something. I spoke with them and said that the little details against big champions is very important because if we don’t make mistakes, they can’t invent a goal.

“Now, we have to reflect very well and I will choose my best XI [against Manchester United on Sunday].”

Meanwhile, United winger Ashley Young says: “Of course we want to do that. Get back to winning ways, winning trophies. A club the size of United should be pushing for the title and I believe, with the squad we’ve got, we’ll be doing that this season.

“In another few days, we’ve got the Community Shield and it’s vitally important everyone gets minutes.

“Everyone is delighted to get those but I’m not sure how the legs are feeling right now. We’re looking forward to Sunday’s game now.”
