Versatile Johan Goosen is desperate to show that he belongs with the Springboks.
And with coach Allister Coetzee still paaping over who will play in the No.15 jersey with Willie le Roux out of the Rugby Championship squad, Goosen is ready to step up.
Ahead of the opening clash against Argentina on Saturday (5.05pm), the 24-year-old says: “Wherever I play I will try to make it my position but there are a lot of great players in there.
“I think it is good competition and everyone is pushing each other for a position, but any position I will take.
“It’s just a number on your back.
“If I play 10, 13 or 15 it will still be a huge honour to play for the Boks. Playing at 10 or 15 is almost the same kicking wise tactically. So it doesn’t matter where I play.”
Meanwhile, Western Province loose forward Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Sharks winger Lwazi Mvovo have been sent to their Currie Cup teams.
Francois Hougaard will not be considered for the clashes against the Pumas due to a knee injury.
