Roger de Sa says his swak Ajax Cape Town side deserved their 5-0 pak at Bloem Celtic on Saturday.
The Urban Warriors found themselves four goals down at the break after failing to put up a fight at all in the match.
And a resigned-looking De Sa said afterwards: “We never got going at all.
“I thought we were bad from the first minute to the last really, and I think we deserved to get the hammering we got.
“So we’ve just got to try and get the players back on the road, and go for a result next week again.”
It’s been a recurring theme for the Cape side, who have battled with consistency.
They held league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless draw last Wednesday and looked the better team.
This time around De Sa says his team “never came out of the changeroom”, as their hopes of a top-eight finish took another blow.
He adds: “When you’re a professional player, you don’t need too much motivation – you should be motivated each time to put on a kit and play.
“Obviously today, nobody came to the party, nobody even came out the changeroom and it was very disappointing from the performance we gave against Sundowns to the one we gave today – it was almost as if we had totally different people.”
The loss leaves Ajax 10th on the log, as they prepare to face Jomo Cosmos in their next match-up tomorrow.
