SEEKING IMPROVEMENT: Boss Allister Coetzee

Despite winning their first Test 37-14 against France at Loftus last weekend, Springbok coach Allister Coetzee knows they haven’t hit their straps yet.

After a much better start to the season than last year, it looks like Coetzee and company have buried the ghost of 2016.

And while they did well to beat a “second-string” France outfit, there is a lot of room for improvement.

Coetzee explains: “I am very happy with the effort of the team, they did well and got the job done in Pretoria.

“However, for us it is a process and we’re looking forward to more improvement in all aspects of our game and that is why we will work extremely hard during training this week.”

France are ready to call up their big guns after missing the first clash due to the domestic Top 14 final last weekend and Toetie knows what’s coming.

Of the match in Durban on Saturday, he adds: “We all know what this team means for ordinary South Africans, and that is why I was pleased with the team effort in Pretoria.

“It would be fantastic to once more see the passionate support of a big Durban crowd.”

Centre Francois Venter, meanwhile, has joined up with the Boks yesterday after Jesse Kriel and Damian de Allende were both ruled out of the second Test.
