BOSS: Stuart Baxter

Bafana Bafana will have their backs to the wall when they face Namibia in the Cosafa Cup Plate final tomorrow (5pm).

The team will be without coach Stuart Baxter after he was sent off in the 2-0 semifinal win over Botswana on Tuesday night.

Bafana could also be without breakout star Riyaad Norodien, whose performances at the tournament have been widely praised.

After scoring a brilliant 33rd-minute goal, Norodien was taken off at the start of the second half after picking up an injury.

Bafana assistant coach Thabo Senong hails the player, saying: “He’s an impact player for us.

“He is still lacking that match fitness but he’s a player that can always come from the bench or start the game and give us a good half.

“He gives us width, he gives us penetration but well done to him for scoring that good goal.

“But all credit must go to the boys, they really worked hard in defence and attack.”

The team battled hard and got a second goal in added time at the end of the match when winger Lebohang Maboe played in substitute striker Judas Moseamedi.

And after winning the Man of the Match award, Maboe is ready for the final, saying: “You can expect the same performance that we displayed tonight, that I can assure you.

“It’s another win for us and we must keep working and I’m sure we’ll get the win.”
