Arsenal look to have gotten the striker they wanted in Alexandre Lacazette.

This after Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas admitted that the ace will be on his way to the Emirates in the next 24 hours.

Lacazette is set to sign a five-year deal with the Gunners, who are expected to pay £44m for the France international’s goal scoring services.

The fee will be a new club record after splashing out £42m on Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid in 2013. Aulas tells French media: “The transfer of Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal could be done in one or two days.
“We will probably reach a new record, it’s not a small transfer.”

Lacazette scored 37 goals in all competitions for Les Gones last term and has been linked to Premier League rivals and Atletico Madrid.

But since the ban on the Spanish club, which stops them from signing players until January, the Gunners have finally gotten a break.

What Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will get is a 26-year-old marksman, who scored 28 Ligue 1 goals last term – his best return ever.

He will be Wenger’s second signing of the off-season after leftback Sead Kolasinac joined from Schalke on a free transfer. Wenger has been working hard to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco in a reported world-record £125m deal.

The latest reports also claim Riyad Mahrez is close to agreeing terms with the Gunners.

And the FA Cup winners have set their sights on Sporting Lisbon pair defensive midfielder William Carvalho and winger  Gelson Martins.
