Johm Comitis’ new Cape Town football suffered a moerse blow with the news that coach Muhsin Ertugral has signed with Orlando Pirates.

The former Ajax Cape Town was in charge of the Blacks Aces club Comitis bought and is relocating to the Mother City for the start of next season.

But Ertugral, who led Aces to a best-ever fourth-placed finish, will not be working with his former Ikamva colleague.

And the Turk explained his decision to join the bitter rivals of his former club Kaizer Chiefs.

He tells SoccerLaduma: It’s an honour and a privilege. I feel very good. I mean, we are talking about one of the biggest clubs in Africa, never mind South Africa. When you get offered a job like this, you don’t think twice! Basically, when Aces was sold and the whole move story came about, that’s when things became… how can I say… unsettled.

“You know, I was very happy at Aces. We were growing something; I think everyone could see that. These young players were improving all the time and it was wonderful to see.

“There was a possibility of me moving to Cape Town, but certain issues… technical issues… couldn’t be agreed upon.”
