South African cricket star Wayne – sorry Waleed – Parnell’s partnership with Aisha Baker is official.
The 26-year-old Proteas all-rounder tied the knot with his beautiful 25-year-old bride in Cape Town on Saturday.
About 400 people attended the nikah at the Zeenatul Islam mosque in District Six, which was followed by a larney reception for family and close friends at the Mount Nelson Hotel.
Cape Cobras teammate Beuran Hendricks and coach Paul Adams were among the guests.
Waleed, who converted to Islam in 2011, looked mashallah in a long black thobe and a matching koefieyah.
And Aisha, a fashion blogger from Vredehoek, wore a spierwit satin lace floor-length gown with silver embellishment at the waist and sheer sleeves.
The ensemble was topped off with a beaded white scarf.
There will be no time for a honeymoon, however, as the cricket star is set to fly to the West Indies on Wednesday for a triangular series with Australia.
The newlyweds started dating in 2014 and were engaged in March this year.
