LOOT: Cops seized a firearm and drugs.

Police made six arrests in three separate incidents.

Grassy Park cops on the beat nabbed six suspects in three separate incidents – hijacking and being in possession of an illegal firearm and drugs.

Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana says in the first incident on Wednesday night, patrolling officers noticed two suspicious men who fled when they saw cops.

“Police caught one in possession a silver 7.65mm firearm with a serial filed off. A 23-year-old suspect was arrested on charges of possession of prohibited firearm.”

In the second incident at about 10.55pm, a vehicle was hijacked in Catbird Road, New Horizon.

The victim, who was driving a white Nissan bakkie, was waiting for another car to pass him when he was approached by armed men. They told him to get out of his bakkie and drove off with it.

Police found the vehicle in Boundary Road, Philippi.

A 24-year-old suspect was arrested on hijacking charges.

And yesterday, just after 8am, cops searched a house in Blackbird Avenue, Parkwood, where they found a bucket half full of dagga, 56 stoppe and mandrax tablets, worth about R1600.

“Three men, 18, 31 and 67, and one female aged 33 were arrested on drug-related charges.”

The suspects will appear in Wynberg Magistrates’ Court soon.
