The festive season is around the corner, and the City of Cape Town is looking for some fresh new talent to join in the fun when it switches on the Krismis liggies in a few weeks’ time.
Mayor Patricia De Lille will be turning on the Adderley Street lights on Sunday, December 4, and as usual there will be a lekker jol that night.
The Switching On of The Festive Lights concert is a great platform for emerging local talent, and this year is no exception.
Up-and-coming singers or bands can now enter the Festive Lights Challenge to try and get a spot alongside established artists like Cassper Nyovest and Jimmy Nevis, who headlined the show last year.
New artists can enter at indi.com which is a social video talent platform.
After creating a profile on the site, you can upload a video of you or your band in action.
The performer with the most likes and shares on social media will win a spot on stage.
Besides performing in front of at least 80 000 people, the winner also gets a R10 000 cash prize.
