A man dubbed the Century City killer is expected to plead guilty by entering into a plea and sentencing agreement with the State.
Yesterday Khangayi Sedumedi made an appearance at the Western Cape High Court where prosecutors revealed they were finalising the agreement with the accused.
The 32-year-old faces a total of 24 charges which include four counts of murder, 10 of rape, three for kidnapping, one attempted robbery, five for robbery with aggravating circumstances and one for assault.
According to his charge sheet, in a period of four years, from 2011 to 2015, the accused attacked seven females, including a 15-year-old girl, and kidnapped, robbed and raped them.
Four of the women were murdered, with one of the deceased still to be identified.
The body of the unidentified woman, believed to be his first victim, was found in July 2014 near the Wingfield bush in Goodwood.
Next was Anathi Mali who was killed in the bushes at Acre Road, Factreton, on September 2014.
On December 16, 2014, Nothemba Ndodo was raped and robbed before she was stoned to death on a field in Factreton.
And Sinazo Ntlaka was threatened with a gun on January 6, 2015, before her two ATM cards, work clothes and hand cream were stolen, and she was murdered.
Sedumedi was arrested the next day after police discovered Sinazo’s belongings at his Gugulethu home.
It’s alleged the accused, a former security guard, contacted some of the victims and promised to find them work before he attacked them.
The matter is expected to resume on June 8.
