Police need your help in finding a truck driver who crushed a man to death and fled the scene.
Sibongile Springbok was walking along Gunners Circle Epping, 1 near the Epping Fire Station, on Wednesday just after 10am when he was hit by a truck.
Police were carrying out patrols in the street when they noticed a badly injured Sibongile lying in the road.
Cops called an ambulance but sadly the man passed away.
Police questioned persons who witnessed the incident and they informed cops the truck had rammed the man and drove away.
Captain FC van Wyk explains a case of culpable homicide has been opened and is appealing for the public’s assistance: “Police were doing patrols, he noticed a man lying in the road.
“On investigation he noticed the man was badly injured and called for an ambulance.
“On arrival, the ambulance personnel certified the man as ‘dead’.
“On further questioning of onlookers, it was ascertained the deceased crossed the road and was knocked over by a truck. The truck didn’t stop and no registration number is available.”
