Police are investigating after four people were brutally gunned down by a gang of nine armed men.
The incident took place at Ntsikizi Street in Crossroads on Saturday night when a group of six friends were ambushed by the unknown suspects.
The incident comes days after four other young men were shot and killed in Lower Crossroads last week.
Aphiwe Siyolo, 21, Asahke Dantile, 16, Yonela Hermanus, 21, and his cousin Gcobane Gubevu, 22, were murdered on Tuesday evening at a friend’s house in Ndongeni Road.
Motives for both attacks remain a mystery as police try and piece information together.
But it is alleged that Saturday’s attack was in retaliation for the murders in Lower Crossroads.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says at around 8pm, about nine suspects arrived and fired several shots at the victims.
“Six people were shot which resulted in two people being injured and four fatally wounded.
“Murder and attempted murder cases were opened for investigation.”
Arrests are yet to be made in both incidents.
Yesterday family of Mzonke Sidia, 22, whose body was found in the doorway with a bullet wound to the head, said they were shocked by the murders.
His aunt, Mina Sidia, says: “There was blood everywhere and the second body was found in the bedroom.
“We still do not know what happened at that house but we are heartbroken by this.”
