Man accused of sexual assault bail application is postponed.

A taxi driver accused of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl while out on parole will have to wait a few more days until he can make a bid for freedom.

The 41-year-old man from Genadendal was arrested a week after the incident which allegedly took place in Myddleton three weeks ago.

He allegedly penetrated the defenceless young girl, who is still at crèche, with his finger while they were alone in the minibus waiting on older kids to come from school.

He appeared in Caledon Magistrates’ Court last week on a charge of rape.

His bail application was scheduled to take place yesterday but was postponed as the investigating officer couldn’t be at court.

Cops have confirmed that the suspect previously served a jail sentence for rape and was out on parole at the time of the alleged incident.
