Two of Cape Town’s top radio names are getting ready to tie the knot.
Kia Johnson said yes after her man DJ Branny popped the question last week.
The bubbly Radio 2000 and TV presenter got engaged on Tuesday to the well-known DJ, real name Brenvin Draai.
The couple were on a holiday near Ceres when Branny popped the question and Kia, 37, says it was like she was dreaming.
“I was standing in the kitchen of this little cottage and he says to me: ‘You know. There’s never like a perfect moment in life’.
“And then we started talking about the kids that keep us busy, and how hectic our work is and he says: ‘I really love you,’ with tears in his eyes,” she explains.
She says the next thing she knew her romantic man popped the question and she had a ring on her finger.
The couple spent the rest of the week in their love cottage and when Kia got home, she posted the news on Facebook.
Kia wrote: “WOW, the most beautiful holiday with the love of my life Branny B’Tight relaxing and enjoying the time and THEN he asks me to MARRY HIM!
“My heart is still overflowing with the moment, thank you for being all that you are. Love you always and forever xx”
She also posted pictures of the two of them along with her announcement.
Kia jokes and says because they’re both DJs, they might do something different at their wedding when it’s time for the first dance.
“I said to him ‘how’s about you and I open up the dance floor doing a back-to-back mix… that would be kwaai’,” Kia says.
The two radio DJs have two children, Olga, three, and Sebastian who’s 11 months old. And she says they will probably both be in her wedding entourage.
“Sebastian is walking now, but if he’s the ring bearer he’ll probably chew the little pillow,” she jokes.
