A Cape Flats drag queen and well-known whistleblower is being accused of running up a R87 000 bill at a guesthouse and then stealing the owner’s wife’s car.
But Queenie Madikizela-Malema has hit back, saying Jacques De Bruyn is just miffed because his wife found out they were sleeping together, and that he enjoyed it.
De Bruyn, the owner of Wolwedans Accommodation/Backpackers in Groot Brakrivier, contacted the Daily Voice to complain about Queenie, saying she ran off without paying her moerse bill two months ago.
“He/she [Queenie] alleges that I loaned my wife’s car to her/him in return for sexual favours. I must say that I was unaware of the fact that I’ve jumped out of the closet, it’s news to me,” De Bruyn says.
But Queenie says De Bruyn “has lost his mind”.
“I have been many things, but I am not a liar and a thief and that you can ask anyone whom I have ever worked with, including the former public protector, Thuli Madonsela,” she told the Daily Voice on Tuesday.
“She swore under oath that I am a reliable source of information and that she sees me as a valuable source of information.”
Queeny is credited with saving Madonsela’s life by warning her about an assassination attempt on her life.
The drag diva says: “How can this man, with his tiny penis, that I am not used to, and slap pink eiers, say I owe him anything?
“I paid my account upfront and never took his wife’s car anywhere. I also only stayed there for about four weeks. Jacques de Bruyn is delusional, and probably ashamed that the best sex of his life came from me,” says an upset Queenie.
De Bruyn claims Western Cape Community Safety MEC Dan Plato “called me to say he would pay the bill himself, but I have not received a cent”.
“She [Queenie] stayed here, with lots of police officers and their wives coming and going and some sleeping over.
“I just want my wife’s silver Chevrolet Cruz back, and my outstanding fees.”
But Queenie says she drives a luxury car and has no need for De Bruyn’s Chev.
“ Ek ry met ‘n driver, my pragtige Mercedez Benz and two bodyguards, wat sal ek dan nou ‘n kar gaan steel, is die man mal?
“I was at the guesthouse and paid in full. I was doing undercover work which had good results. That is what I do.
“I investigate people and they are captured. I have exposed many corrupt police and correctional services officials.
“I take full responsibility for (Major-General) Jeremy Vearey being demoted two years ago. I exposed his corrupt dealings and now he is threatening me in the papers,” Queenie says.
But Vearey, who went from deputy provincial commissioner for detective services to heading the Wynberg cluster, says “as always” someone is paying Queenie to tell lies.
“Two years ago I was also affected and records then showed payments coming from Dan Plato into her account. Now he [Plato] denies any relation with her,” says Vearey.
“I have confirmed with correctional services and Queenie has violated her parole by, number one, not being at the address she is supposed to be at and, number two, speaking to the media.
“She is in a whole lot of trouble and all this because she loves the limelight.”:
Plato denied having any dealings with Queenie.
“I met with the owner (of the guesthouse) because I have nothing to hide and I told him I never gave consent to pay the bill, I refused to accept any invoice and I told him that if he feels defrauded by her, he should open up a case with the police as it has nothing to do with me,” Plato says.
A defiant Queenie says she is being victimised; “I am currently at a secret location because I fear for my life, but I will not be silenced.”
