These gatvol neighbours burnt tyres in front of an old lady’s house in protest, calling on her to move and for cops to stop opening “fake” cases laid by her.
Yesterday community members in Irvine Street, Manenberg, picketed in front of the home of Margaret Siebritz, 63, where she lives with her son, Christopher Sietbritz, 41.
Police were on hand to monitor the situation while mense chanted and held placards, saying: “Siebritz must go” and “Ons is Gatvol”.
The community contacted the Daily Voice in June after Margaret opened eight cases against her neighbour, Justin Goezaar, claiming he pepper sprayed her home, dumped poo in her yard and threw stones on her roof.
She has since made four more cases against him, relating to intimidation and assault.
Justin says it’s all lies. He is due to appear at Athlone Magistrates’ Court again on September 16.
Neighbour Loretta Ferreira, 52, accused cops of not responding to their calls.
“This morning after 7am she claimed the 76-year-old neighbour was throwing stones on her roof and that her house was being pepper sprayed,” she explains.
“We are gatvol of this woman because she makes false cases.
“We decided we will burn tyres to get the police’s attention.”
But Margaret says her neighbours are jealous because she retired two years ago and has been refurbishing her home.
Lieutenant Colonel André Traut says no new cases were registered yesterday.
