Cops crackdown on drug peddlers in Mitchells Plain.

Mitchells Plain cops have arrested 10 suspects in two separate incidents for allegedly being in possession of drugs worth nearly R30 000. Police also seized nearly R40 000 in cash.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut says: “(On Saturday) night at around 8.20pm, members attached to the Mitchells Plain Crime Prevention unit searched a residence in Kennetjie Street, Beacon Valley, which led to the discovery of six packets of heroin with an approximate street value to the tune of R23 000.

“Four suspects aged 46, 40, 24 and 21 were arrested.”

In a separate incident a few hours later, cops nabbed six people for drug possession, also in Mitchells Plain, and seized cash.

All the suspects are due in court today for dealing in drugs.
