France star duo Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba will be back to their brilliant best for the remainder of Euro 2016, says Moussa Sissoko.
Striker Griezmann and midfielder Pogba, regarded as France’s most dangerous weapons, were both below par in France’s opening 2-1 win over Romania, as West Ham’s Dimitri Payet stole the show with a superb last-gasp winning goal.
But Newcastle midfielder Sissoko is min gespin and insists it was only an off day for the host nation’s biggest names.
He says: ‘We were all tense for that first game because the pressure was enormous.
“There will be no easy matches but we’re more relaxed now and determined to go all the way.
“We all realise how important Antoine and Paul are for us and I’m sure you will see a great France team with both Antoine and Paul at their very best.”
France have struggled in recent meetings with Albania, their Group A opponents tonight (9pm), notably losing to the same opposition 1-0 a year ago after an unconvincing display.
Sissoko says: “We should not underestimate anybody. It was tough against Romania and it will be tough against Albania but we’re not scared.”
Fellow midfielder Blaise Matuidi is also convinced France will improve after looking sluggish against Romania.
The Paris St Germain man says: “Most of us were not at their best against Romania but it was difficult with all the expectations weighing on our shoulders.”
“We must play better, we all know that, but I’m not worried…”
